Across the Country. Part 1.

Our journey to Los Angeles, CA began on Monday. We drove from Nashville, across Arkansas and finally to Oklahoma City, OK. It was about an 11 hour drive.

Then we had a wonderful Italian meal at Zio's. The meal had sort of a Southwestern twist to the food. It was strangely delicious.

Tuesday morning, Leah got up for a quick hotel treadmill run and then we headed out again. We drove across Texas and stopped in Amarillo at Tango's Taco Shop. Seriously, some of the best tacos we've had.

We kept venturing west and ran into some nasty storms. It's pretty amazing to see the land terrain change while driving west. Along I-40 through Texas, the majority of what we saw was old, abandoned farm equipment. The land was desolate and kind of eerie. The closer we got to NM, the land turned more into dessert.

We finally stopped in Albuquerque, NM after an 8 hour drive.  We arrived by 4:00 so we decided to go to Old Town. It was a really great place with shops, restaurants, and lots of souvenirs. We bought our friends Sam a coffee mug and Andrea a ring.

Then it was dinner time. We were told that Kelly's Kitchen was a fantastic place to eat so we decide to check it out. We got there and it was an old car service building transformed into a restaurant. It was also a brewery. It was a decent place to eat but not the best.

Overall, our first two days were fun and exciting but we were definitely ready to spend a couple days with Sam and Andrea in Scottsdale, AZ.

More to come later!

Brassard Wedding

It's official... Taryn and Scott are finally married! They make the cutest couple and it's evident to everyone around that they have a true and lasting love. We are beyond happy for them! I truly believe God has blessed them with each other. They both deserve the absolute best and they got it!

Taryn did most of the wedding planning all on her own (with the help of Pinterest) and it was one of the prettiest weddings I've ever seen! She used a mix of neutral colors and hints of pale pink. There was a shabby chic theme with classy, antique decorations.

Please enjoy some pictures!

Our bridesmaid dresses. We picked our own after we were told our color options. The dressed turned out beautifully all together!

Table decorations.

Name place cards.

The "guest book". Everyone signs a square of the quilt with their well wishes.

My flowers and adorable handbag.

My hair! It's hard to see the details but it's braided across the back. I loved the flower.

Taryn was such a gorgeous bride! I'm so honored to be part of her special day!

We had a blast helping decorate and getting ready for this awesome day. Then it was time for pictures and the ceremony! I wish I had a picture of Scott's face as his beautiful bride was walking down the aisle. It was absolutely perfect! I had a hard time holding my composure! The when the "I do's" were all said, the happy couple walked out to "Ho Hey" by the Lumineers.

We took more pictures with the whole wedding party and then it was time for food, drinks, cake, and dancing....lots of dancing! Oh, and of course, photo booth fun.

We had a blast! It was so great to get to see old friends and meet new ones. Congratulations to the Mr. and Mrs.! We love you guys!

Arrington Vineyards

Hello everyone!

A few weeks ago, we went to Arrington Vineyards for my (Leah's) birthday.  Jerry likes wine a lot but I love wine!  We went with Jerry's cousin Rusty who also lives in Nashville.  Arrington is owned by Kix Brooks who you may know as one of the musicians from Brooks and Dunn.  We went late afternoon in mid-June and the weather was perfect.  The vineyard is on the top of a hill on beautiful country land.

We did a sample tasting and all the wines were delicious!  The reds we tried were fantastic as well but there is something delicious about a crisp, cool white wine when it's warm outside!  We bought two bottles of wine while we were enjoying the afternoon and evening.  The Viognier is a medium bodied, dry, white wine with hints of fruity flavors.  The Stag's White is a crisp, dry, smooth white wine with tropical fruit flavors.

We finished the evening off with a gorgeous sunset!

We had an absolutely fabulous time!  If you are ever in the Nashville area, we highly recommend taking a trip to Arrington Vineyards!  Fabulous atmosphere and delicious wine.

I absolutely can't wait to find more vineyards across the U.S.  Feel free to send us any recommendations!

Let us introduce ourselves...

Hello!

We are Leah and Jerry and we have recently opened up a new chapter in our lives.  We have been nurses for a while now and we decided to start travel nursing.  Here's a brief synopsis of what that is.  We are employed by an agency that places at hospitals where there are staffing needs.  Each assignment is 13 weeks.  There are needs all over the country so we can pretty much pick where we want to go.  How exciting is that?!

We both have a huge desire to travel, explore, and make the most of our lives!  We haven't decided where we want to settle down.  Who knows, maybe we never will!  Traveling will expose us to some awesome places and we can't wait.

So, where are we now?  We recently took our first travel assignment in Nashville, TN.  We started in April and only have three shifts left.  We like Nashville a lot, especially because it's close to so many of our closest friends and family.   More to come on our Tennessee adventures later.

Happy 4th of July everyone!  The rain is keeping us in tonight.  We hope you are enjoying the holiday!
